Battle Royale

Japanese film very nuts and entertaining.  It takes some royal rumble principles and applies it to real life.  Very bloody and Tarentino like.

I may give the Harry Potter franchise another go tonight in wake of the new movie. I don't own them so I'll have to rent. I remember seeing the first two in the cinema and they were pretty cool, but I never got around to watching the rest of them.

The third one's my favorite so you should definitely check it out.

Ah a classic film, love it!  The sequel sucks though, its interesting you mention wrestling principles because The Condemed with Steve Austin ripped off the principle and that film sucked to.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

I liked it a lot better than the last one.  Definitely watchable but I've heard complaints from readers of the novels.  Since I don't read the books, it didn't really matter to me.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance--better paced than Mr. Vengeance and I liked the flashback method used in establishing the characters relationship with Geum ja but the ending was weak by the standards of the other 2 films of the trilogy.  It doesn't have the emotional power(the endings) of the other two films.  The last 30 minutes seemed kind of tacked on after the plot point/revelation.  They should have shortened the film to make it better.

At the cinema - Bruno. Cut some running time and you'd have a good film, but this is a one trick pony that just cant last 90 mins +, the joke wears thin...and it is just one joke

On dvd - Transformers, love hate love with this film - loved it so much when it first came out that i saw it twice on the same day. Later on though i grew to dislike its nonsense, plot holes and issues (where does Barricade go?)

....but TF2 was so dreadful it makes the first one look like a classic, all the problems with the sequal - horrible ''comedy'' bits, total lack of characterisation, blurry fights - well, they arent there in the first film

Get out of my mind! Our tastes are disturbingly similar - i'm find it harder and harder to tell my posts from yours - as a gude i look for mentions of Kip James as a clue! :hihi:

I love that film - the sheer brutality of it, 80's cartoons never had people dying - and Transformers the film featured whole sale massacre

The Transformers soundtrack is on my iphone - I need a bit of Stan Bush every now and again
