I thought it was a decent RAW.

Loved the Cena/Lesnar stuff and the Jericho/Henry/Punk thing.

Lesnar's persona is interesting as he is acting like a heel but as is the uniqueness of Cena even the worst heels will have some fans and because he is a returning massive talent he is getting a face kinda reaction. Hearing him praise Laurenitius is obviously WWE way of making him a bit more heel, so i expect to see more of that.

The initial scrap was brilliant and reminded me of the Tyson/Austin thing. Wrestlings star vs a world fighting star. Austin gave the finger, Cena slapped Lesnar and then chaos.... and blood (hows that for legitimacy). Though that Cena smilling through the blood was a great moment... like he enjoyed it. My only gripe with this was did we really need big name wrestlers out there? refs, backroom staff, security and other workers i can understand but guys like Bryan, Sheamus, Del Rio. Why would they care?

The ending was good too (if not predictable) with Lesnar coming through the crowd to attack Cena and give him the 2nd F5 in as many weeks. The match was announced for Extreme Rules which Lesnar will undoubtedly win but hopefully the feud will then continue through to the next PPV.

Oh yeah also love seeing Tensai back as a legitimate worker and have to say really impressed with Rhodes and Ziggler again and Santino is just awesome.

The Rock says he is going back after the WWE Title?  Good thing???? Bad thing???  I think the good aspect is he could give the belt meaning, its looks bad when so many main eventers seem to have feuds that they consider more important than the belt.  Bad bit....he's part time...semi retired from the biz

I think its a good thing if he comes back full time. Having a champion turn up twice a month is tricky.

The other good thing is that someone would eventually have to beat him for that title, which could be massive for someone's career. Imagine someone like Daniel Bryan in two years beating Rock at Mania for the title... or Cena beating Rock at Mania as revenge. That could be moments that both men are remembered for.

Rock already did his part to build the company and he left it WAYYYYYYYYY better than when he got there. That is all u can ask.

No one can blame him for leaving to go on to a lucrative, successful movie career. Rock grew up in the business and knows better than anybody to leave while u still have your health.

He should be commended, not condemned.

Completely agree. I don't subscribe to the people who say he owes WWE anything but at the same time i think he does talk some crap when talking about WWE. Saying things like "i'm back" and then being on TV 10 times in a year is weak and he should have more respect IMO.

If you get offered more money for less work and its better for your health, thats a no brainer, but you should also not forget the people who bust their gut week in week out like Cena who unlike Rock has has no help in his era, no real break etc.

The question is if you were booking it would you have done it that way. Its not a right or wrong answer but opinion, but in mine having Rock go over Cena was kinda stupid in the same way that Hogan going over the Rock would have been silly too.

The current guys need the rub, the victory does nothing for the Rock, but does hurt Cena.

Imagine if Cena left tomorrow and in 8 years returns to beat the biggest star on the Roster... does that not seem stupid?

As mentioned he put Miz over and has done the same for Punk last year. However that i don't mind as WWE needs to create new stars desperately (AKA why Rock/Lesnar are needed so bad) so WWE taking a chance on younger guys i can take.
Really?  He put over Miz?? When?  Surely you don't mean losing to him at last years Mania.  The WWE made it clear for all to see Miz wasn't in Cena's league and The Rock pretty much handed Miz the win.  It didn't do anything for The Miz as it was all about Rock and Cena, remember Rock crushing Miz and standing tall to end the show.  And just incase you weren't completely convinced, I'm pretty certain we got in to double figures for the number of times Cena beat Miz in the subsequent months.

I think The Rock match was the first time for a long time he cleanly put someone over.  Even with the Punk thing, where Punk was meant the be THE next big thing, they made it obvious to all who could see Cena had the match won, but for Vince showing up and Cena doing the "Right thing", it was his match.  And a month later, Trips didn't see his foot on the rope....

The Rock match was the first time they actually admitted, Cena wasn't the better man, which was surprising.  The Miz and Punk feuds though, nah....

Sorry but to let anyone like Miz beat a star of Cena's size at Wrestlemania is putting them over. Miz still uses the win alot in promos from what i've heard.

By point is that Cena loses close on 40% of his PPV matches and considering he has been the flagship of WWE for many years with no one really from his era challenging him, thats incredibly high. Many stars that got to his level would not stand for those type of figures.

The point is this era needs a boost and Cena has tried to help get others over, but they haven't taken their chances. But letting Rock go over on Cena, just seems so silly as its basically taken it only true star and made him and all the workers look weak compared to the already more favoured era.

I liked Rock and Cena cause I got surprised. I thought no way in Hell Rock would go over Cena, especially how bad he buried and destroyed Cena in the promos leading up. I figured Cena would pull off some type of win and they could have Rock save face by it being his first singles match in a decade or whatever.

Interesting because i saw this differently. I knew Rock would win but i also thought that aside from Cleveland where they did the Rap/Rock concert Cena promos were better than the Rocks in the main.

Cena has a consistent POV as where Rock rants despite being funny at time were kinda like crazy ramblings. Rock really had no answer to the "You're never here" promos Cena did and despite the crowds love of the Rock i think that Cena handled himself brilliantly.

Therefore i saw it the other way that Rock had kinda been shown up a little in a few promos and therefore no way that he would lose.

Guess they feel Cena is untouchable, kind of like HBK putting over Hogan in the fact it doesn't really matter cause he won't lose any drawing power.

I think losing to the Miz is way worse for your  career than The Rock.

I guess my point with the money is... If Rock ONLY would do the match if he won... I'd try to figure out where to go with Cena and pick up the extra 50-60 million, than not allow rock to win and not have the match.

although Cena needs to job more through the year and start picking up some WM victories.

Untouchable? The guy loses a fair bit. As mentioned he put Miz over and has done the same for Punk last year. However that i don't mind as WWE needs to create new stars desperately (AKA why Rock/Lesnar are needed so bad) so WWE taking a chance on younger guys i can take.

My point with the Rock is that like Hogan did with him you need to see the bigger picture of what you are leaving behind when you leave. If he would only agree to the match if he won, then i would lose respect for him as that a move for himself and not for WWE.

I know alot of you thought Cena would win, but i really failed to see how. Rock's film being promoted, In Miami, the bigger music star, the real heat between Cena/Rock and his only match of the deal all pointed a Rock victory.

I understand that Cena won't lose drawing power, but essentially he has been beaten by a guy that hasn't been in the ring for 8 years in which time without Cena WWE would have been in massive woes. He now will get dominated by Lesnar and lose to him. It doesn't only make Cena look weak but all of the dressing room as Cena has been fairly dominant for years.... so what chance do they stand.

As mentioned the better scenario would have been Cena beating the Rock and then other ex-workers coming back to take their shot at Cena. Cena could win some and lose some, but for that to work he needed to win the first one to show he belonged with the likes of Lesnar/Rock/Bret/HBK/Austin etc (which he does).

And the crazy thing is Rock's "Vision" could of still proceeded with or without the victory.

I remember eating humble pie when Rock beat Hogan as i thought Hogan would never allow himself to lose and i was rooting for the Rock. I had alot of respect for Hogan that day as that was a big day in The Rock career as was his matches with Austin at Mania. Cena has not had that sort of Epic match feel since he made HBK/HHH tap in 06/07 Mania's because no one has come with him to his level from this era.

To me he is deprived of an epic feud/match that defines his era as pretty much he is the era and that must be incredible frustrating for him and WWE and therefore their only option is to bring older guys back in an era vs era kinda deal... which because Cena is who he is will always means he will lose these big matches at Mania.

WWE won

heard WM got 1.9 million buys.. so that match theoretically sold 900,000 ppvs as last year's wm did 1 million

so 9 hundred thousand  times 55 to 65 bucks??

MONEY!

But people would of watched it whoever won. The build up was brilliant for WWE... no doubt.

But my question was how does Rock burying WWE's current biggest name help WWE?

Think how much better a storyline it would have been if Cena beats Rock comes out and Lesnar comes out and says congrats on beating The Rock and then F5's Cena.

Lets face it Cena will do what he's told as thats him.... but now he'll likely get beaten by Lesnar, which will essentially say "This Era sucks".

Don't get me wrong its great to have Lesnar and Rock back, and i don't subscribe to the "Rock/Lesnar is taking a younger workers spot" argument. They are superstars who worked hard and are immensly talented and make me wanna watch WWE. But WWE really on has Cena on that Level. but if they are coming back as a short term boost but by the time they leave WWE is left with nothing is that good for WWE?
